well, my cs:source is being really skippy and laggy, and i dont know why.... it might be because i have so many mods and skins on, so i want to delete it an reinstall it, but if i delete it will it let me reinstall it? how?

it also might be because my virus protection has run out and i cant get it back working again... does anybody know any free virud protection things that work good?

Try running the video stress test. It may be your connection that is laggy.

yea lol,it might be your connection.I tried to play and the screen froze when i got shot.So my full blast speakers on my laptop kept looping a gun shot.

Mess with your video options, I had a good card back in the day when It first came out and I still had to have everything on low. If you want to delete and reinstall just go to your SteamApps folder, I'm assuming you know where it is considering you installed skins, and deleted your whole counter-strike: source folder. As long as gcf file remains, you'll be fine. You may need to update but it won't take as long as re-downloading. Basically when you first load a game, steam extracts everything from the gcf file into that folder were you install skins and such. Deleting the folder will force steam to re-extract the gcf. I think with most gcf files when you update your game it gets updated too so I don't think you will have to update but I'm not 100% sure on cs:s cause I've never tried it.

Again, your specs might have something to do with it. Source based games are insane and take up a crazy ammount of recourses. Maybe your computer isn't 1337 enough for it.
