Rep Power: 0 | My best buy had around 100 but there was a pretty big line before opening as the workers escorted us around the games and accessories, persuading us to buy, buy, buy! |

Rep Power: 0 | I worked the midnight PSP shift at my Game Rush. Slow and smooth. We still have a good 15 left over. |

Rep Power: 0 | well here in danbury, ct. It wasnt as bad as i thought, to be honest, it seemed like the ds sold quicker at release. I personally forgot it was coming out yesterday and i went into a game stop because a good friend of mine got a job, and he started bugging me to get one ( i already had one reserved, but i canceled because i needed some money to pay some bills ) but anyways, i went along grabbed some money and bought one. I also bought the need for speed game for it, which is alright. NOTHING beats the video quality, my god. |

Rep Power: 0 | my walmart has a bunch left and i still cant decide if i want one or not... i might wait til april. This was the same exact thing that happened at the ds launch. My eb tells every body that the fastest possible way anyone can get one is to preorder with them untill april. My gamecrazy still has a few for a wile, and my walmart has close to 30, crazy. |

Rep Power: 0 | Durable? Answer is yes. Earlier today, I dropped my sweet baby directly onto concrete from 4-5 feet up. Battery flew out, memory card popped out, and UMD popped open. After I put it all back together, it worked perfectly fine (I still returned it and got a new one, just in case) |

Rep Power: 0 | Stores around here sold out pretty fast but it's got some pretty upscale neighborhoods in the vicinity that probably account for most of the sales. Those still looking can probably turn up a unit by driving less than thirty miles. Practically no trip at all for a SoCal native. |

I went to Best Buy because they were having a early opening psp party at 8am and they had half a skid of preorders with names taped to them and another whole skid ( 40 left or so? ) for walk ins. They had sold about twenty, not including the pre order pick ups.
I got mine, and I like it alot. It's expensive as all get out when you start adding things up, but it'll be perfect for what I want. I got a couple dead pixels, but really not an issue as they aren't in the direct sight line. Even the spidey movie looks great. So I'm happy with mine, glad I got it. Another plus, I had ordered some sony 81 series earbuds from japan for my ipod and they sound great with the psp.
But was it hype? Or is Indianapolis a cold zone? Or is a Thursday launch not conducive to good sales? They going to be gone by the weekend? I'll be watching my Meijer and Wal-Mart this weekend just for sport. Gotta buy food anyways.
N. who's sittin back, reflectin, and askin questions | Hmm, that's kind of interesting to hear. I haven't been to Meijer or anywhere else besides EB, because I'm stuck on the Purdue campus until Friday this week, but I haven't seen a PSP available yet. I might see one when checking other stores in the area, or when I go home to Fort Wayne.
I remember too about Meijer advertising about midnight. I think that the reason the DS got off to a better start, selling out mostly, was because it was very close to Christmas, and it's not the buying season right now. |
