yeah there is a risk factor alright in that our bodies may not respond the same way as an animals body does. Although there are very rarely adverse effects when a human is treated with a drug that has been tested on an animal(not many that i know of anyway) there is always a risk. Thats why we use trial drug schemes to give a patient the option of going on a new drug course and they know that there is a small risk factor but i do agree with you that there is always the risk of us responding differently to the drug than the animal does.
But thats what my job will soon be when i graduate and do my masters, (a long way to go yet), to try and make sure that there is no risk, which is not easy!
