Button Mashing. - PSP Forum

What are your guys' thoughts on button mashing, and to a lesser extent, your thoughts on people using one move over and over?

Do you think that because your little brother can whoop your ass at Tekken 3 because you actually take time to learn the combos is fair? Or are you just not fast enough to compete with his uber 1337 fast button mashing rants?

And what of people who trap you with the same move over and over again, until you die because they were too fast with their one move for you to get a block in?

What are your thoughts?

I mash buttons, sometimes. Or sometimes it just looks like I am. I'm very fast with my hands, which is why I rule at MK3.

I hate button mashing.

I'm still having nightmares from Marvel vs. Capcom 2

Bring it on. I am MK Master [in my Family, anyway]. I'll totally own you in MK 3. I know all combos [MAT2 is what Its on] and Cream most of my cousins.

EDIT: Button Mashing bothers me sometimes, but sometimes my cousins do it. My best friend [and only friend] repeatedly presses the A button in Soul Calibur 2 [GC]. I voted fair , but It's ony fair on some games. I'm pretty good at tekken. My hands are quick.

I know all Subzero combos, and Scorpion combos, and I know almost every fatality for the good characters.

Scorpion is my cousin's favorite character. Sub-zero in MK2, Jax in MK3[my favs]. I know almost all fatalities in MK2, not 3. Only ones I can't remember are mileenas' and Shang Tsungs' fatalities.

I suck at most video games so I just mash random buttons in some of them. If I actually know what I'm doing it's different but something like star wars ep III on PS2? I can't work the combos even when I read the manual so I just hit the buttons as fast as I can lol. Oh well.

I never seen any button mashers on 2D fighters, but it's those 3D games (DOA/VF/Tekken) is where f***ers mash buttons and actually pull out combos and win.

I hear you. theres so many combos to these new 3d fighters, its hard to buttonmash, and NOT get some kind of combo. But there was the 2D Marvel Vs. Capcom.. Thats the only game my sisters would play with me because they would buttonmash and whoop my ass. It sucked growing up with 2 sisters. Not very competitive. But yeah, Ive seen some sick moves come from a buttonmasher and thought "THATS NOT FAIR!!"
