Artic monkeys*
(currently the biggest band in the Uk by a mile there 2006 debut album broke all album records by becoming the fastest selling ever debut album in the Uk. There debut single *i bet that you look good on the dancefloor reched number one for a month. There a very british band may be hard for the Americans to appreciate. some of there lyrics might not mean anything to Americans aswel for example chav.)
The libertines*
probably best described at garage punk the music is very raw sounding. The band only latest 2 albums but achieved so much in the british music scene in the short time. There two albums were recently included in channels 4's 50 greatest albums of all time
Dirty pretty things*
Formed from the original libertine members minus Pete doherty there a new band. There debut album last month reached number one. There style is very much like the libertines
