Depends on how you compress them. High quality 2 and med quality 4. I havent tried low yet.

Dont even bother with the lowest quality. Messing aroun the other nite i used the lowest qb10 setting and it shrunk the file(Pulp Fiction) down alot, but the quality was a joke and imo unwatchable.

I managed to get a 5 minute pron scene ripped from a DVD to fit on the 32 meg card (had to be pron as I was demonstrating the PSP to the other engineers at work

. I would estimate (as I cannot get a 1 gig card, that 2 average sized dvds (as they come in different sizes) will fit on the 1 gig card. The guy at Best Buy was telling everyone, oh 4 movies will fit on 1 gig no problem.....right. Remember: PSP Video 9 + DVD Decrypt=Radd Vids for the psp!- Now... if I could just get a browser, ftp, and headset to work I could rule the world!!!

I got Garden State to be 535 megs at a reasonable quality (the video has some stretching that I don't like, but it's my fault for converting it like that).

psp 9 is pretty easy (actually very easy as so much of this type of stuff is not-GUI friendly):

Its pretty easy if you walk through it.
1. Have your PSP plugged into your puter via USB.
2. Fire up psp video 9 (it wil auto detect your PSP)
3. Walk through the set up directions (there isnt anything to really do-but it explains it).
4. You will essentially hit the convert button - point to the video file (on your pc) and it will simply convert it (there are many options for compression-but mess with em later).
5. Once done (if you have enough room on your psp for your new mpeg4 movie) pspvideo9 will move the file to your psp and you are done.

I am sure this has been convered hundreds of time in greater detail-but it is pretty ez so dig in.

Memory stick-wise...ask your girlfriend-bigger is better. If you can afford it grab a 512 now to play with-then go 1gig when they come out at a reasonable price. Personally I will use the 512 for music / 32 for games / 1 gig for mpeg4s.
