Memory Card - PSP Forum

Hi:

I'm new to PSP's and havent gotten one as of yet but I'm planning on buying one of the new slim 2000's within the next couple of weeks.

I didnt realize how much a PSP could actually do until I found this site and I'm excited to get one and use it to it's full potential.

Anyway, I'm creating a list of all the stuff I want to get one thing being a memory card. I was curious as to how big of a card I should get, I was thinking a 2GB but didnt know if 4GB would be better. I would like to get online, store pics, songs, possibly movies etc. Not a whole lot but enough to carry some with me and possibly use as a MP3 player but dont want overkill if I can keep the cost down (new baby on the way).

So I was looking for suggestions, 2 or 4 gb card?

Depends on how many videos, and music and photos you have. If you have a ton of those, I would recomend a 4 GB one. If you just want some music, videos and photos, just go with a 2 GB one.

I think you should get the 2gb because I got a 2gb and I have my psp for over a year and i have 1.7gb on it and I have a lot of homebrew and songs on it. If you are not going to but homebrew on it then don't get the 4 gb

I got a 2GB one and don't have any problems. 2GB works fine for me. As always, you could get another 2GB or a 4GB later on if you need to or you can store files off onto your computer via USB mode.

I dont think I will be running/carrying any homebrew stuff at this point, although I havent researched a whole lot about it. I dont want to take a chance or bricking it or carrying non secure items so to start I'm probably going to stay clear.

Other than for games, I would like to carry MP3's (I cant see carrying more than 100 or so at a time), storing some movies would be cool, not that many pics but I am very interested in getting online and playing/surfing or something and whatever else I can do with it (not sure of everything yet).

I didnt know how much space saved games and music takes up, so I thought if I should start with 4 it would save me from buying another but if I could get away with two then I would (if that makes sense).
