Well yesterday my mom bought me a PSP for my birthday, the giga pack

WOOT. Well knowing that this bad boy would be doing alot of travelling, I wanted to invest in some type of case, I saw this pelican PSP starter kit sitting their on the store shelf for $19.99 and thought it had everything I would need. The kit itself came with a USB cord, car charger, 4 plastic UMD cases, a screen protector, a polishing cloth, and a travelling case. The travelling case itself is pretty good, nice and sturdy, and it has plenty of compartments for your umd's and memory cards. The case seems to be a pretty decent size aswell, it won't fit in your pocket but there arn't many cases out there that will.
The screen protector is the biggest dissapointment, it actuall ruined my PSP's sleek glossy finish. The problem lies in the adhesive used to hold the Screen protector on, a screen protector should not need any kind of adhesive, as it ony damages surface. To my dismay I watched as my perfectly clean PSP was turned into what appeared to be the product of 20 years of duct tape. I am sure you are aware of the damage left behind by tape after long periods of time, that hard to remove filmy substance, well that substance had now found its way onto my PSP in a matter of 30 seconds. Not even duct tape would have left this substance on my PSP in such a short time, it's the kind of thing you expect to find after removing a piece of tape that has been sitting in the sun for half a century, but this little pelican Screen protector managed to throw it onto my PSP in less than a minute. At that point the screen protector was scrapped, I would spend the rest of my time trying to clean away the damage that was done. If you buy this starter kit, DO NOT USE THE SCREEN PROTECTOR.
Now on to the other items, the UMD cases. These little plastic cases are meant to protect the delicate bottom side of your UMD's, I have heard people speak of the horrors of pelican UMD cases, I have yet to find any major problem with them. The UMD easily slides into the cases, and they fit confortably in the case. If there is some hidden danger to these, I am unaware of it.
The last two items are the Car charger, and the USB cord. The USB cord isn't worth talking about, as it comes with the PSP unit. The car charger is a very usefull device, and I am glad they included it, I am not sure how healthy car charging is for the PSP though.
All in all, I would give the Pelican Starter kit a 6/10 because only half of the package was actually usefull.
Pros...
Nice looking case with lots of pockets
Comes with a car charger for playing on the go
If you lose your USB cable or your polishing cloth, this kit is your backup
$19.99 price tag is pretty good
Cons...
Screen protector actually destroys the screen.
Although it is nice that a USB cord and a polishing cloth come with the kit, they also come with your PSP.
