My friend has bought a cable that connects your PSP to your homestereo much like the iPod connection cable. I am not looking for a fm transmitter. I cannot get ahold of my friend. This cable allows you to use the music on your PSP to be played on your home stereo system, perfect for throwing parties. Does anyone know where I can find this?

You want a 3.5mm stereo jack to a pair of phonos. Whereabouts are you and I'll see who does em. If you are in the UK Maplins do them. That or most Hi-Fi shops should have them too.

My friend had a party at his house yesterday and thats what we did, using his surround sound system. We used a 3.5mm jack that he usually uses on his mp3 player.

You can do this on any device that has a line in. I do this a lot for my mixer and audio equipment (I run a radio station.)

If your device has a standard headphone jack (1/8th inch), you can get any of this stuff at radio shack. Basically it's a cable with two of the same plugs, one on each end. Simply takes the signal from device one to device two. Total cost, depending on length, is 4-10 bucks. Here's a 6ft 1/8th" male to male cable at RadioShack for 3.99 (url)

I was out of luck one day and only could find an RCA audio cable, luckily I had two RCA to 1/8th" adapters and just essentially created the same cable I mentioned above.

I'm assuming the PSP uses a standard headphone jack.. don't get mine until Wednesday, dunno why they'd use something else though.

Like the first responder said, if you have RCA inputs, you can either get a 1/8th" to RCA (linkage) -- or get an RCA cable and an RCA to 1/8th" Y-Adapter (linkage) for a few bucks.
