Rep Power: 0 | Easiest/cheapest way to set up for Wifi online? So right now, I have a wired network with cable modem and 4-port router. It works fine for me, but I'd like to be able to play my PSP online at home. I have no particular desire to replace my entire network, so I am wondering what the easiest way to set up a hot spot would be. |

Rep Power: 0 | You would have to buy a wireless router. It will have the ability to hardline one PC directly into it, but the others PCs would need wireless cards put inside. It will cost a pretty penny initally to set up, but its worth it.
If you are using a mac most if not all of them come with the airport card inside, so all you have to do is buy an airport and connect it to your modem. (Best way to go imo) |

Rep Power: 0 | I bought one of these today at Best Buy
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?CategoryID=pcmcat25300050001&id=106929 9971409&skuId=6227683&type=product&ref=10&loc=01
$19.99 after rebates, and it has 4 ports on it, so I shouldn't need to buy a bunch of wireless cards. I'm sure it is not the best wireless router on the market, but it is something inexpensive I can get started with. |

Rep Power: 0 | Cheapest way would be to find a Linksys wireless router in a vacant house left by an old tenant like I did yesterday. I work in property management and find stuff left by tenants all the time.
Yesterday I got a router, a cable modem & Ms. Pac-Man Maze madness for PS1 all out of the same house. Now I have to get broadband at my house.:P

Defender: I wish. I don't even have cable TV. Least My wife and I own our own house. Guess that's worth something.

Rep Power: 0 | Wireless routers can usually be found for 7-15 dollars now after rebate so it shouldnt be too hard to upgrade. I've found the reliability of all of them to be pure crap though -_-. There doesnt seem to be any reliable companies. Linksys used to be but now it sucks. Belkin is dead out of box. SMC has numerous problems and netgear sucks too. D-link was good for me until a half a month when it died. |
