colour gone from my psp screen - PSP Forum

hi all , newbie here ive a little prob with the psp1000 i took it apart to fix the charging connector and now i have no colour well technically i have it looks like the hue and saturation levels are gone haywire i think i may have damaged a ribbon cable but how do i know ? it didnt fall it was ok previous to opening had never been opened before but i was handling the ribbons with a tweezers would this cause this type of problem heeeeelllpppp its my sons he 's 8 yo and he wants his psp aggghhhhh

Sounds like something wrong with the cable. Open it up and recheck everything.

Well i never had that happen to me before,but try to open it and leave it on then touch or shake the screen to see if that works

hey guys , ive tried takin it apart several times , it looks as if you are looking at an old negative slide you get after developing pictures in the pharmacy its weird anyone know where i can buy the ribbon cables thx

no i just opened it to fix the charging socket but i was unsure how the ribbon cable were removed i was tugging at them with a little tweezers and i think i might have damaged one of them it was the one that connects the o triangle square x pad it works fine but the colours are all messed up

hey fellas took the plunge and splashed out for a new screen !! only that still didnt fix the screen , so i finally (after trawlin the web ) i realised it was the backlight fuse the FD on the motherboard anywho , i didnt have a soldering iron so off i went and bought a 25w iron and some 1.0 mm solder (not too bad 12.50 euro) i peared a telephone cable apart and used 2 strands of a single colour and soldered it to the fd fuse , but again in my haste to finish up i didnt remove the battery and i heard these little crackles as i was soldering , put everything back together and wouldnt cha know it no joy nada , no light green or red so anyone had this misfortune happen to them ???????????? heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllppppp
