psp does not light up with plugged in

Well heres my problem. My psp does not start up what so ever. No light, no nothing. But if I plug in the charger when theres a battery already in, it seems to charge with the orange light. But if i take out the battery with the charger still in theres no light and once again it still doesnt turn on. What could the problem be?
