I have a psp phat, (1001) and I want to update to the newest sony software, but it says I have to have a memory card 32 mb or more. I have this, and i even reformatted it to take of everything. It says its 32mb, but when i look at free space, it says its only 30mb. help please!!!! i really want to get it updated so I can put games on it from media go. I have a psp go, but im a noobie to the psp phat. dont they have internal storage?


P.S. when i try to download the new firmware, it says that i do not have enough memory to complete the update. please help me!

There are some stuff on the memory stick that take up some space that you "cant" get rid of even by formatting.
Buy a 1gig memstick

if you have a 32mb memory card, chances are it will be 30-29 mb in reality. Same as in HDD's, my 1tb drive is actually at a total of 998gb

i would suggest a mem card at something like 8gb, gives plenty of space for music, pics, vids and games/game savedata
