"Upgrading" To custom firmware - PSP Forum

I know this has to have been posted here before, but I want to make sure that I am doing everything right. So sorry for duplicates.

I am wanting to change my PSP-1000 (Japanese version, uses O for select and X for back) to the latest custom firmware. I am considering purchasing the Pandora's battery from here and making a Magic MS following the guide located here. Am I doing everything right, and once I have used the battery, how do I upgrade to the latest CFW?

Also, I have heard stuff about the TA-082 motherboard, which I believe I have, and was wondering if there are any issues with that.

Can any permanent harm be done?

I have a PSP 1001 from eBay. I'm going to use a friends PSP with Pandora battery to get custom FW on it. If you know someone with a PSP and custom FW see if they can make your STANDARD sony battery Pandorized. Much simpler (I assume)

Thanks for the reply, but I already ordered the battery, and it arrived today. Will make the magic memory stick soon. But I am still scared of stuffing up my psp. Unfortunately, no-one I know has put CFW on their psps.

Well, I did it (a couple of weeks ago). And it's awesome. Recommend CFW to anyone with a PSP
