Hi guys, Im new...I just got my PSP today, and it is amazing. Anyways, one of the titles I purchased along side of it was Ridge Racer. Now, I started the World Tour. I was able to complete the first two races coming in second, but now I can't beat the third. . I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips, OR if there is a way to make the game on Easy, Hard, etc, please tell me how.

Don't use the brakes. Extend the drift as much as possible around the turns within reason and launch the nitrous on the straitaways. Your drifting will improve with practice, this is key.

one question....how do i drift?

Just come into a corner much too fast and at the last moment throw the analog stick in the direction of the turn. The skidding sound you hear is good. Don't over do it though because although your nitrous meter is rising your actually going slower.

I also Just picked up the game today and let me
tell you a few tips...

When drifting, go into a turn as FAST as possible.
Also try and stay on the inside of the turn.

You don't have to drift all the turns..some turns
are just faster if you take them normaly.

NEVER USE THE BRAKES!!!! LOL...

The more you play you will see how it is to control
the car on a drift and basicly get it on it's sweet point.

I use the D-pad instead of the analog nub. It's more accurate for drifting. In this game, I don't find myself using the brakes that often, if at all. Drifting is your friend and you have to practice it in order to be successful in this game.

First off,welcome to the forums!
Ok, i have had this game since the PSP came out, so im pretty good if i do say so myself . Ok, what i do is i tap the brakes coming into a corner so that it will send me into the initial drift. From tehre its kind of a balancing act, just keep the car going at a reasonable angle through the turn. Personally, i drift every turn. Its faster, and it feels better since the vehicles can barely turn on their own without drifting. Also, i always try to keep at least one shot of nitrous for the last part of the last lap, because you never know when someone might pass you on that last straightaway, and you need just one shot of nitro to pass them and steal the win.

well, Im in LOVE with Ridge Racer now!!! only one other question. how are people drifting without the brakes?

i got ridge racer after i beat the tony hawk game. i got tired of the tony hawk game and i loved drifting so i decided to trade in my tony hawk game. well anywayz. i beat the whole max tour and its so fraustrating but i manage to beat the whole thing. well when i drift, i just tap the x button try not 2 make a big angle or make the tail slide to much so you can exit better. also, on the max tour or any hard race, try 2 stay close to your oppenent and save all the nos at the end so you can smoke them at the end.
