Rep Power: 0 | Multiplayer SNES? wtf?! I dont think that SNES games could play over the net when the actual system was out, so it would be one hell of a task to rewrite the *cough*Roms*cough* to incorporate wi-fi play.
Still... that would be cool. |

Still, I'm not very experienced when it comes to this technical stuff, so who knows? |

Still... that would be cool. | You've never heard of X-Band ? Goodness. It was a modem that plugged into your SNES or Genesis, then the game plugged into the modem. It allowed you to connect to a server and play some games over the "net". It had rankings, avatars, chat, etc. It was waaay ahead of its time. Here is some more info if you'd like to learn about it.

You learn something new everyday. I loved this piece of hardware. I spent many, many nights playing MK2 instead of sleeping when this was around. I had opened a bank account JUST for xband, and probably spent over $1,000 in about a year and a half playing people all over the US. It was a brilliant idea. Just look how the concept has taken off now. Just FYI, znes has internet play included in the list of its' features. It's definately possible to incorporate wifi/internet play to the PSP emus. |

I was like four at the time, so I had never heard of anything. And nobody has ever really mentioned it until now. I guess you're right, you learn something new every day. 8) |

Rep Power: 0 | I kinda figured you'd have been really young at the time lol. Most people here are probably too young to know about the xband hehe. After my first two years of college, I took a break from school. That's when I was an xband junkie lol. It was really fun while it lasted. It crashed about the same time I went back to school, so it was a good, and bad, thing. *sniff...
I still have mine somewhere tucked away with all my old hardware/consoles. |
