I've read through the Homebrew stickies, i've read the thread on installing the recently developed 2.5 homebrew...but admittedly, i'm a noob, and even after a ton of searching, i'm still a little in the dark about this.

Yes I understand i'm asking really basic stuff but i'm getting frustrated picking through threads trying tp piece together what info applies to running homebrew on my firmware version (as opposed to the older ones), and what I need to do it.

-What the heck is WinRAR and where do I get it?

-Do I need GTA to do this? And how do I load the GTA save exploit onto my 2.50? I'm assuming I can use the file linked in the 2.5 Homebrew thread. (THREAD: http://www.pspforums.com/forums/about17216.html&highlight=homebrew ). All the searches i've tried to find out just bring up threads about GTA, the game. Just put it in my MP_ROOT folder?


If anyone can help point me in the right direction, it's much appreciated. I just got a decent sized (1 Gig) memory card for my PSP today, and happened to stumble upon the thread about homebrew being available. I never did any reading on Homebrew in the past, as I have a 2.50, so it was a moot point...now i'm lost with this stuff, even though I can actually do something with it now.
