You can have custom backgrounds, or custom skins on PSP OSS. No skins for the regular menu though.

Figured as much. I'm not into running homebrew... not into the PSP that much. Is there a possibility for animation with backgrounds?

For 1.5:
Well, you can change the menu names.
Music, Video, Game, Photo, Settings, and all the little sub menus in them.

You can even remove the pulsating glow

However, they are only meant to be changed if you seriously know what your doing, it's definately not meant for novices.

You can also remove the wavy lines and change your backgrounds.

Now these are more easier and safer to do, but still write to the flash. I would advise caution and make sure you read directions and carefully follow them.

Better not to mess with the theme stuff, just create a kick ass background and you wont even need to waste your time with trying to make it look "cool"
