good info. i just thought that hero wasn't worth giving an 8 for. kill bill deserved an 8 and i think that pirates should have got more credit than a 6

How can someone, that makes movies for a paycheck, sell out? All of his previous films he did for free?

With certain people the more power they have the larger their "id" becomes relative to their logical preconcious (the "id" is the animal like part/lowest layer of the subconscious.) As they become more powerful/famous they also become predominantly id-driven, which in turn degrades their spirit or what made them special in the first place (but it does not degrade their ability to make money because in most instances strong and wrong will win over right and weak.)

There are obviously those who grow more conscious the more power they have and there are those who don't change regargless of how much power they have.

Selling out is letting yourself be driven by your id rather than by your preconscious.

Valid point but imo power and fame are two different things.

I meant "famously powerful" not "powerfully famous"

Having said that, in America fame and power come together because the minute you're famous (even if you're a criminal) you get to go on TV shows and make movies etc... and you make money in the process. So the two concepts are intertwined in this culture.

The interesting thing is that even in the case of Bin Laden his fame is one of the sources of his power. So while fame doesn't always guarantee power a lot of fame will always bring you more power.

That's what I believe but with everything being subjective I'm obviously open to believing otherwise.
