| Convert before you can convert... (Temporary Fix) I have no idea what video formats PSP Video 9 is compatible with, and it is drving me nuts. So, I decieded to look for a freeware program that will convert to MPEG4, and I will manually put it on my PSP myself, but all the freeware versions will only convert 50% to 60% of the video... What in the hell kinda crap is this  :x ?
All I want to do is put my Naruto videos on my PSP, but I have to go through hell and back before I can get anything to even come remotely close to working.
So here are my questions:
1. What video format is PSP Video 9 compatible with? Simpilar terms, what formats will it convert into MPEG4?
2. MPEG4 is also called AVI?
3. Anyone know any good, reliable, free video converters?
Please help me quickly, for Im leaving for a trip to Montana (I live in Florida) to go skiing tommorow and I really, really wish to have these videos on my PSP for the plane ride(Never flew before) and the trip.
Thanks for any help guys, and I really, really apperciate it. **EDIT**
This is where I am so far:
1. PSP Video 9 will convert .WMV (This is the format my videos Im trying to convert is in), but it will take an ungodly amount of time (A good 10+ hours for a 20 minute video.)
2. My PSP Video 9 had to be updated to convert my .WMV files. I found out I was using an old version... actually it was one of the first versions released. I realized this after I remember I downloaded it from an old tutorial that needed to be updated. The updated PSP Video 9 uses AVISynth. Basicly what AVISynth does is temporaily converts the video to .AVS format, then it is readable by PSP Video 9. So when you convert a .WMV (like I was doing), it is changed to .AVS and then PSP Video 9 converts the .avs to .MPEG4. However, like I mentioned above, it takes a long, long time. The video formats PSP Video 9 uses .AVS for is:
.WMA
.WMV
.TIVO
.ASF My temporary fix:
Redownload my videos in .AVI format, and have PSP Video 9 convert to MPEG 4. The Downside:
Each 20 minute video is roughly 150+ MBs, which is a space eater on my 1 gig card.
I hope this helps anyone who is having the same troubles I am. |
