| Then you have faulty USB ports... unfortunately there isnt another way to hook it up to the computer.
Is your mouse or keyboard USB? If those work then maybe you should buy a cheap keyboard/mouse that uses the PS/2 connector and then use that USB port.
If you have done nothing to your computer ever, then you probably have plenty of PCI slots available on your motherboard. If you arent afraid of opening your case you could buy a new USB card and install it into an empty PCI slot. Then, you would have more USB's out the back of your computer when you put the case back on.
If you arent confortable doing that yourself, then i bet CompUSA or Best Buy would do it for you in like an hour. Ask their tech guys to help you pick out a new USB card, they may even install for free.
This whole thing may set you back 30-50 bucks is my guess. |
