Rep Power: 0 | Expert Needed with Internet!!!!! This is my problem: I cannot get online.
I have: PSP, Cable Internet (Telewest), Wireless Router.
Setup: Cable Box --> Wireless Router --> PC (via. Wireless Network Adaptor)
This all works fine.
When I try to enter the Network Settings on my PSP it works. I get onto the screen where it gives a list of settings but at the bottom it reads;
Internet Connection: Failed
I have entered IP address, DNS, WEP Key etc. but still no success!
When I was at a Restaurant 2 days ago, I connected to a Wireless Router with ease.
I have also been informed that I should disable WEP, but when I do this I cannot get online on my PC, and still cannot get online on my PSP.
I was also told to change my Router Settings on my PC by typing my IP into the Address Bar. I was going to change the mac address settings to allow filtering for my PSP. It said;
Page cannot be displayed.
Please can anyone help me? |

Rep Power: 0 | After you changed the mac adress settings on your router it told you the page cannot be displayed?
**EDIT** Oh, when you type your router adress in the bar it says page cannot be displayed? Make sure you are typing the correct address.
You can then go into the Mac adress settings and have it accept your PSP's mac adress, thats what I have to do with mine to get it to ultimately work.
Stupid question, but just for peace of mind, the wifi switch is in the up position, correct? Also, in the settings, turn of WLAN Power save. Just in case. |

Rep Power: 0 | You should not need to disable the WEP settings at all, although I have had problems with using WPA on a 2.01 firmware PSP and using NFS Most Wanted online when I had WPA setup.
I have MAC filtering setup on my router and this works fine with all the PSP's I've connected, but I would not advise you to go changing too many settings on your router unless you have an ethernet cable lying around to plug your laptop directly into the router or you may find yourself locked out via the wireless if you dont change the setting on both the router and the laptop at the same time. It sounds like that might be what you did at the end there when you set the MAC filtering up. :lol:
I did have some issues when I had the SSID broadcast disabled on my router that every other time I tried to connect a PSP it would not find the wireless, so I have now turned the broadcast on and they connect every time again. Also when going through the network setup select the 'Scan' option rather than entering all the details manually as I seemed to have more success doing that as well. |

Rep Power: 0 | Make sure you have the WLAN Power Save option turned OFF on your PSP.
I'd suggest, resetting your PSP config back to Default Settings, then turning off the WLAN power save option, then setting up your connection. |

Rep Power: 0 | I do not have a laptop and also I have not yet configured my mac address settings. If I was to say my IP address was 72.29.39.20, how would I enter the settings on my PC manually? |

Rep Power: 0 | From my experience, I have found that some routers work and some routers don't.
Maybe there should be (if not already) a post with routers / access points that do / don't work
