So my friend just gave me his PSP for my CO2 Gun and it has the 2.00 Update but after downloading couple games for it. It asks to update to the 2.81 version which I can't seem to find that specific EBOOT anywhere. So I download the 3.04 from Playstation.com and placed it in a folder "UPDATE" in my GAME folder. But, when I luanch it on my PSP, it will just freeze and after a couple of seconds, just turn off. Any tips?

If you JUST want to upgrade to 2.81 here you go:

I recommend that you stick with Official Firmware for several reasons:

1. You don't have to worry about corrupting the id keys on your motherboard and not being able to go back to Official Firmware even if you want to.

2. Official Firmware is made by SCEE, Most Custom Firmware is made by only one person, Dark_Alex, and if Dark_Alex suddenly decides to stop making custom firmwares then you'll be stuck on an outdated custom firmware and won't be able to go back to official firmware without a 90% chance of bricking your psp ( unless your lucky and have a TAO-79 MB)


But, about the update problem just download the latest 3.50 EBOOT.PBP from Sony's website because most likely you have corrupted data and if that doesn't help try a different memory stick.
