Here in Indianapolis I can walk in any store right now and buy a psp. I got mine at Meijer last night and I was the only guy there waiting at midnight. Meijer got twenty in. I stopped in Wal-Mart this morning to see if they had the late arriving games yet, they got 20 in, 18 still on the shelf. I went to Best Buy because they were having a early opening psp party at 8am and they had half a skid of preorders with names taped to them and another whole skid ( 40 left or so? ) for walk ins. They had sold about twenty, not including the pre order pick ups.

I got mine, and I like it alot. It's expensive as all get out when you start adding things up, but it'll be perfect for what I want. I got a couple dead pixels, but really not an issue as they aren't in the direct sight line. Even the spidey movie looks great. So I'm happy with mine, glad I got it. Another plus, I had ordered some sony 81 series earbuds from japan for my ipod and they sound great with the psp.

But was it hype? Or is Indianapolis a cold zone? Or is a Thursday launch not conducive to good sales? They going to be gone by the weekend? I'll be watching my Meijer and Wal-Mart this weekend just for sport. Gotta buy food anyways.

EB I got mine at had 33 extra, the best buy had some left, and target had a ton. I went 3 places trying to track down 2 games though.

Yeap looks like game availability may be the sticking point ....EB was sold out with system preorders last night so I got mine at BB this morn (they had 150).... BUT... EB had plenty of games and Best Buy had like 6 of some of the popular titles, and get this, my local Walmart got 0 games except for the few they already had....ooooooooo some Chinese heads are gonna roll over that one.

I vote for location, although I think there is a lot of Hype.

Trully now that we all have one, I suspect that word of mouth will really carry this thing (if people can get past the sticker shock).

I couldnt find Ridge Racer anywhere. After hitting up 3 places I got the last copy Target had.

My target had roughly 8-10 in the glass case this AM at 10. I was #3 of 5 people at EB for pre-orders and they said they got in 10 extras there. EB had no Ridge Racers but target had about 6 and I got 1 leaving 5. I think I hyped myself up too much for this release. Maybe I just haven't had enough time to play yet. (30 min) I just feel like I'm mising something. I just feel like I'm going to break the thing too.

I had to wait nearly an hour just to pick up my preordered PSP. :?

My local GameStop was opening at 8AM, so I thought I'd be able to just walk in there and get out quick if I arrived at 8:10AM. To my surprise, there was at least 50 people there already, still waiting in line to get their PSPs. At around 8:55AM, I finally left with my very own PSP. And there was at least 20 more people that lined up behind me throughout the duration I was there.

EB's here are having a shortage, but Target, CC, Best Buy seem to have plenty. They are moving pretty fast, though, so I don't know what the status will be after the weekend.
