I just bought my first PSP 2 days ago! :D
I bought a brand new black value pack from a store.

I have a few questions, I opened up the box, and turned it on. It says my firmware is 1.50. So does this mean it's an older PSP like from the first batch? Are the newer batch ones better than the older batch ones? Also, should I keep 1.50 or upgrade to 2.60?

One more thing is that looking from the back of my PSP, the right side of the UMD door doesn't close super tightly. It's like 2mm out. Maybe because the door latch is over on the left side? Does anybody else have a PSP UMD door like this?

I just played Lumines and Wipeout Pure, they're both fun! This thing is awesome! Also bought a Hori screen protector to protect it.

if you want to use homebrew DO NOT UPGRADE if you just wanna use it regularly then upgrade it

basically if you want homebrew dont upgrade and if you want to use the internetnet browser on it upgrade. i use 2.6 its great but 1 of the moderators of this forum could explain it to you more!

If you want a better browser keep it 1.5
If you want more features keep it 1.5
If you want more games keep it 1.5
If you want more apps keep it 1.5
If you want the Ability to Upgrade and downgrade to 2.0 keep it 1.5


now on the other hand.

If you want to limit your homebrew to a few games like Pong and tetris up to 2.6
If you want a crappy browser up to 2.6
If you want to depreciate the re-sell value of your psp up to 2.6

More people want a 1.5 so they will buy that instead of a 2.6.

Look on Ebay. Mostly everything that is over 2.0 wont state that because its not wanted.
