Rep Power: 0 | I just got a PSP. So I have a few questions. Hi, I'm new, I just bought a PSP yesturday from a friend for a really good deal. Almost New PSP Value Pack for 175$. Unfortunately, the system came with Firmware 2.01 on it, so since I couldn't downgrade, I upgraded just for the hell of it. Nothing wrong with staying legit right? Anyway I have a small problem and I don't know if its because of 2.60 or not. I downloaded some files to my memory stick and they don't work. The first files were in mp4s .zip format, I know that cant be helped until I get a USB cord. The other file was a Red vs Blue mp4 I found on this site, I downloaded it to the ---ANV01 folder and the PSP doesn't see it. I've downloaded movies from the official PSP website to this folder before and watched them with no problems. That was before I upgraded. My question is, since I cant use them, how can I delete these files without formating my memory card or using a USB cord? I don't have a USB Cord yet and I have game data I dont want to lose. More importantly, why isn't the movie recognized by the PSP? |

Rep Power: 0 | I'm not sure as to why your PSP isn't recognising movies, but i'd try using PSP Video 9 to convert the video's first. I used to have problems with video's, but they've all been fine since i've used the program.
Also, whenever I upload video's mine go to the MNV01 directory, not the ANV01 folder. I always thought that the ANV01 folder was to put the thumbnail type images, so that your clips have a preview of them.
I don't think it's possible to delete files that your PSP doesn't recognise either, i've had issues with that too. I think there should be a file manager created on the PSP so that you can adjust files etc, even if your PSP doesn't recognise them. |

Rep Power: 0 | Well, if it doesnt see it, you'll need to connect the PSP to your computer via a usb cable. Then delete the file that way. If you can see, but not play it, just highlight the file, press TRIANGLE, and select Delete. |

Rep Power: 0 | Thanks guys. I think I tried putting them in every folder by now but I'll try the mnv folder again/anyway. Last night I went to the Official PSP website and downloaded a trailer to the ANV01 folder and it worked. I'm going to try an find a USB cord today, because my memory card is down to 6MB thanks to these invisible files. GameStop was sold out so I'm hoping Wal-Mart sells them. Or actually I hope Wal-Mart has some in stock because they're always sold out of whatever I'm looking for. -.-
EDIT: Tried putting it in the MNV folder, still didn't work. I now have a movie somewhere in every folder and the PSP just won't play them. Something tells me this is because I'm running 2.60.. Does anyone else use 2.60? I remember reading something about it being able to play copy-wrighted video in the discription. If by copy-wrighted I hope they didn't mean stuff off the Official PSP website only. That would be such nazified bogusness. ._. |

Rep Power: 0 | You can use any USB cable. If you have a digital camera, it's probably the same cable so you can use that and save yourself $5-10. Then you can backup your memory stick to your computer, format the stick, and everything should work for you... |

Rep Power: 0 | I got a USB cable earlier today. Everything is working fine now, even the movies. The reason why the movies weren't working was because they lacked the corresponding .thm files [a result from direct downloading]. So I had to use PSP Video 9 to get them to work. Thanks for all the help guys. |
