Need guide for buying PSP, first timer! - PSP Forum

As stated, this is my first time buying a PSP. I've wanted one for a long time but never gotten one. I have PSP 3000 in mind for now, and I would like any other opinions from you guys. (Not going for something too expensive though)

Since it's my first time buying I really know nothing about PSP. I've done some reading online and I got more confused @@
Some of the things I read and would like more explanation are like...
1. What is a ISO? What is it for and how do I get it?
2. What is a UMD?
3. How do I get to download games for free?
4. What is a modded PSP?
5. What is CFW?

For now these are the confusing things. IF there are any additional information you think I ought to know please do tell me. THANKS ALOT!! Your help is very much wanted! :D

1. digital version of a optical based video game. You get them anywhere.
2. universal media disk. psp game disk.
3. you can get the games anywhere. i prefer pspisoz.com
4. a modded psp is one with cfw.
5. it is made by dev's and allows your psp to play homebrew, and isos. it allows you to use plugins to add more functions for your psp. you can use custom themes. and some other stuff i cant remember. all in all, cfw is the way to go.

Thanks for your explanation, so basically what you're saying is by getting the psp modded I can download games online for free (In ISO format) and UMD comes with the PSP itself. So if i get someone to mod it for me it would be considered CFW right?
