So I have waited like a year for this thing, i pick it up today, only to find out that I have 3 dead pixels. WHAT DO I DO????

Listen to yourself:

I am paying $250 for a portable console where half the reason it kick so much ass is because of the screen... I can live with dead pixels.

Think about that for a little bit. Think about how fucking wrong it is for any electronics manufacturer to say "it's part of the LCD technology, so live with it." Not a single one of my Game Boys have had dead pixels, and neither has a single LCD monitor or hand-held video camera. What the hell is so wrong with Sony that they simply can't make a fucking screen that performs the way it SHOULD?

only one of the pixels are very noticable, in fact, they are SO noticable, they are DISTRACTING. So, what can I do? Does Sony Cover this?

I agree with RedGopher. Thats fucking garbage. I say you go back to return it and if they dont want to throw it in thier face.

I am so so sick of people whining about a few dead pixels. If you dont like it return it-but stop freakin crying about it.

To mass produce an lcd screen (of any size) that is without imperfection is not cost effective-meaning your $250 unit would increase in price (a lot). I too have 3 or maybe 4 dead pixels-no biggy. I bought a $2K apple flat screen and guess what......dead pixels (apple will not exchange or return for a few dead pixs and that was over $2K...). My digital camera and digital video camera both have perfect lcds...but they are also no where near the quality of a computer monitor/tv/psp.

Agreed, people are complaining about dead pixels a lot becase they have the expectation that it should be perfect. These massed produced pieces of equipment, you have to expect that not every unit can be 100% defect free. I can understand if you have 10+ dead pixels, but 3 is very acceptable and despite what OP said, not very noticable. I have 3 dead pixels on mine and the only time I even notice it is when its right in front of my face. At about arm's length, I have no idea they're even there.

well they are VERY VERY noticable, actually, there are more than 3, more like 6-7, but they are very noticable, they are placed where the screen often becomes dark, thus very distracting. I paid good money for a product whose LARGEST and most tempting feature for me was the fantastic screen. I, as a customer, reserve the right to return it, which I am going. I called Media Play and they said they would give me a new one
