At approximately 11.00am this morning my psp had a stroke, and can know no longer read umds. straight away i knew something was wrong as she was making a strange noise and cant progress to the boot screen.

I am sure you are all saddened by the news as am i, rest assured she had had a good innings. And will be taken to hospital later to determine the full extent of the damage.

The moral of this story is that you should appreciate every treasured moment with your psp as you do not know what is around the corner.
All messages of condolence will be gratefully received.

p.s has anyone else suffered similarly?

Thats what i think. But it might be the PSP itself. Are their any build quality issues with the PSP.

what firmware was she?

if its 1.5 you could still get some good use out of it even if the UMD drive was broken.

changing the umd may make the thing that reads them get knakered!
