Rep Power: 0 | UMD Movie format against memory Stick I don't really give a toss what media infomation i stored on.
What fcks me is that you can convert movies on the media stick which does not match the format of the movies on UMD.
Now id some one could fix this then fck the UMD at least we can see movies at 30fps in the same dvd (mp4) format that you could see using UMD |

Welcome to the world of AVC on PSP! | As i PSP virgin and having spent a few hours reading quite a few threads on movie quality on the psp, and have a few 100 hours spent converting movies from dvd etc to svcd/vcd format.. maybe i'm a dimshit like your proposing..
But i heard/read that the movies that you convert to run on the memory stick are not the same as the full size/format as those that are running from the UMD.
If you have any explanation as to why they a re a different format (aprt from Sony trying to stop you showing good quality copied/backed up moves on the memory stick) then i'm happy to continue this conversation, else go have a wank... |

Rep Power: 0 | UMD videos are AVC.
Memory Stick video doen't look as good as UMD video, but it can come close. And with AVC, I can have videos full screen and 16x9. Frame rate is great.
the only little problem with AVC is that sometimes, the video lags behind the sound. |

I use pspvideo9. www.pspvideo9.com
make a profile with the following:
AVC
426x240
29.97 fps
768kbps video
128kpbs audio
200% volume increase
That will give you enough space for 5 hours of video on your 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo and it looks and plays great.

Getting Started: http://pspvideo9.com/started.html | Using this I ripped and converted a copy of Spiderman 2 in widescreen and it didn't fill up the PSP's screen, Had black bars on the top and bottom.
Any ideas on how to set it up so it will fill the whole screen?
Thanks. :D |

Rep Power: 0 | ^^ You cant. The PSP is set as a bit off of 16:9, and some movies aren't done exactly 16:9 either. So you cant make it perfect without cutting the edges of the movie off. |

Thanks looks like I'll just have to get used to it. :D |
