I stumbled on this link today, for a VoIP service called stanaphone. They offer there software for Pocket PC versions of windows so I started thinking... Why not make software for the PSP that allows you to connect to a voip service? If you did have it, you could walk into a hotspot and *boof* get your voicemail, call someone back, or recieve FREE incoming calls using stanaphone as an examle. Just a dream really, but I think that could actually work

* Dont forget were talking about the future, so thered have to be a usb microphone at some point before that coul'd happen.

I posted this on my PSP hack wish list.

It should be possible with all the VOIP software around. Hopefully this will get done some day. It would be excellent to use the PSP as a voice communication device.

Actually, I use Vonage now and they have a virtual phone selection so I can add my pc as another phone-which lets me make calls anywhere I take my laptop-sooo If the PSP had a place for a mic all I would need is the ability to call an ip (which i can do now). This would be so cool as I could be at starbucks and jump onto their free wifi and make calls. Now wheres the mic go....

Dont think so, it still has to have a microphone ring on the jack and I dont think the psp is set up like that.

If the PSP used Bluetooth instead of just 802.11b it would be a snap to add a headpiece. I didn't buy the PSP to be a phone tho so it's no biggie to me.

I think you should buy a DS if you want a mic.

Touching the screen instead of using directional pad, telling picachu to jump in the air instead of hitting A, Yeah.

I believe the USB on the PSP doesnt have the hardware to be a output device of that kind.
