Wireless connection to PC without a router ? - PSP Forum

Is it possible to connect my PSP to my PC using a wireless LAN PCI card instead of a wireless router ?

I only have a dial up connection and I'm not that interested in playing games online but do like the idea of being able to surf the net using the PSP.

Are there other options I should consider ?

u could buy an access point.... iono.... i have dial up with a router and its not that great cuz the psp has to load images every time.... .unless u have the 2.0 browser cuz that has cache

I do not know what you mean by "Buy an access point" that is not physically possible. I would highly recommend using a wireless router, as it is a quick and easy setup to perform and just aobut anyone can do it.

By using a wireless LAN PCI card, I believe it is possible, and I have done it before for my laptop but it takes some setting up. It has been a while since I did it for my laptop as I have a router now, but if you search the net, use the same setup procedure for your PSP as if it was a laptop and you want to use your wirless LAN PCI card on you desktop. Hope this helps

would It work still to have a pci wireless card but have high speed, cause I dont wanna have to buy a browser etc.

It can work. Its going to be very slow, and its not really worth the headache of setting it up. You wont be able to play online with a dialup connection either.

no, you need some sort of wireless connection.
