Rep Power: 0 | Does anyone know if its possible to convert VOB files that have been split into 2 with DVD Decrypter? I ask as my weak hard-drive cant take files larger than 4GB.
Or is there a program that can keep them as one file by compressing at the same time(or something like that, maybe something between DVD Decrypter and pspvideo9), any help would be much appreciated |

Rep Power: 0 | Try using DVD Shrink. It may or may not compress the file small enough, but it's worth a try.
Download and install it. Once installed, run the program. Click EDIT > PREFERENCES. Click on the OUTPUT tab and uncheck "Split VOB files into 1gb size chunks(recommended)", then click OK.
Insert your movie. Once it's loaded, click on the OPEN DISC button. Choose the drive in the drop down menu that has the movie in it, and click OK. DVD Shrink will start to analyze the disc.
Next, click on the "Re-author" button. You'll see a listing there for MAIN MOVIE. Left click and hold on the movie, drag and drop it into the window at left. Click on the "Compression Settings" tab. Uncheck the unwanted audio streams. Since the PSP is stereo, I'd remove all the other languages and streams except the 2ch audio. Uncheck the subtitles, unless you want to keep them for whatever reason.
Now click on Backup button and choose "Hard disk Folder". Uncheck the create Audio_ts and Video_ts folders. Click on the browse button and choose where you'd like to put the files. Then click OK to start the backup.
Once complete, you'll find a number of files in the folder you chose. Right-click on the large VOB file, and rename it to the movie name. After that, process that large VOB file through PSPVideo9.
Hope that helps. |

Rep Power: 0 | thanks for all your help on the other thread F34R, i think I've found another way to get around the large file size. you know how you can edit out the credits and chapters in DVD decrypter, well what i could do is select only half of the chapters in the input section of the DVD decrypter. that would mean there is no file splitting, only two separate smaller files. i tested it on 1 individual chapter of a film i couldn't convert, then put it through the pspvideo9 and the chapter works fine. |
